The spiral stand-up offers the easiest, injury-free way to stand an arrestee up (think of how you get up tactically from the ground in a hands-free fashion by rolling forward on one bent knee).

PRO TIP: The spiral stand-up also eliminates tripping over his feet if he were to move straight forward and it is easier on your back (and his shoulders) when he stands up under his own power.

Maintaining a joint lock upon arising at an equal rate will ensure little opportunity for an assault or an escape to occur.

Using the rear escort-twistlock will keep him secure while standing him up and he will be ready to be walked away upon standing.
